PACE : My College; Our College

Hey Guyz below is the letter submitted to the HOD for the Student teacher interaction group .... The STIG
a lift from top gear!

STIG

Dear Sir,

I hereby propose the following, for the betterment of the student population in the Department of Electronics and Communication.

1. Setting up of a STIG ( Student Teacher Interaction Group ) for the purpose of debating issues pertaining to the esteemed EC Department.
2. Setting up of the Electronics Association: a body which is a sister concern to the STIG. It is a general body that co – ordinates the students of all semesters and searches for talent in them.

The following are the function s and duties that maybe implemented for The STIG and Electronics Association:

1. The STIG accepts and may formulate plans and chalk out strategies to implement the same.

2. It is the duty of the association to implement the plans proposed by The STIG and may modify them to suit the situation

3. Both technical and non – technical activities have to be implemented to promote the overall development of the students.

Some of the popular Events which are generally held are :

1. Quiz

2. Seminars

3. Pop quizs

4. Dumb charades

5. Pick and Speak

6. Pick and Act

7. Paper Presentation

8. Teaching aids with specific focus of neglected topics of previous syllabus that may have a significant effect on the understanding of future subjects.

9. Hardware design competition

10. Events suitable for the Lecturing Community such as workshops etc

11. Soft skills

12. A specific fest for Electronics and communication students to know how they stand in comparison with similar students in other colleges.

13. Expanding the flourishing Editorial Board : PrEditors

14. Create a Website for the department of EC and a online feedback form.

15. Committee for improvement of the facilities and also maintenance

16. Cultural activities

17. Career orientation specifically with Electronic students.

We wish that the basic functionality of the above may be implemented in the coming week and that a draft charter maybe made with student and senior staff help that will serve to provide a reference and basis for the establishment of all that has been proposed.

I also suggest that an election be held in all EC classes on the 20 th and that special gifted students maybe selected to be part of the STIG. An orientation for the elected and special category students may be held on the very same day by the VIII sem students, specifically students who have been actively involved with the department such as Akhilesh B, Manish, Mridula Rao, and I, Arun Dsouza.

I hope our efforts will bear fruit and will make our department proud.
